ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Events to Be Held March 8-10 at All Three Washington, DC Metro Store Locations

My Organic Market (MOM's), the Washington, DC area's leading full-service retail grocer of fresh organic and pre-packaged foods sold at the lowest prices, announced today the launch

of its Environmental Restoration (ER) Initiative to educate employees, staff, and the community about the direct relationship between humans and the environment. As part of the initiative, MOM's is unveiling its new employee "Green Benefits" program and announcing that all stores are now running on wind power.

"Today is an important day for our organization and for our mission of bringing healthy environmental standards, ethics, and practices to the forefront of our daily operations," said Scott Nash, President and Founder of My Organic Market. "Our goal is to reach out first to our own employees, and then to the communities we do business in, and finally to the many customers that visit our stores every year."

Through the Clean Energy Partnership (CEP), MOM's has purchased 1.2 million kilowatts in Green Tags to power their stores. This clean energy directly offsets the same quantity of fossil fuel energy on the regional grid removing their pollutants from the air. All MOM's store locations will have information on how customers can take advantage of Green Tags in their homes.

With this focus we'll help our employees and customers understand the fragile relationship between themselves and the environment."

In addition to the stores' full benefits package, MOM's employees will receive "Green Benefits" including a $3,000 rebate over 24 months for buying a hybrid vehicle. Employees will also have the option of a "Green Audit" on their homes encouraging them to adopt energy efficient appliances, wind power, grey water systems, solar panels, and other green elements with some of the costs offset by MOM's.
