Minnesota marketers look to '85, when ethanol tax break returns.

Minnesota's energy-conscious government and forthcoming tax advantages are making marketers there look twice at the market for ethanol/gasoline blends.

Soon after his 1982 election, Minnesota Governor Rudy Perpich ordered all state vehicles to use gasohol to boost the market for state crops and increase employment. Since last summer, there has been a 2^ gal. state excise tax credit on gasohol and an 8^ gal. credit on gasohol sold to state or local government agencies and school districts.
