China's major oil and natural gas supplier has made a proposal to the central government on building China's second natural gas pipeline linking the country's biggest gas field to Beijing by the end of 2005.
China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China's leading oil and gas producer, said that the second line will have a designed annual capacity of pumping 12 billion cubic meters.
The proposed line will be connected with China's 4 000 km natural gas pipelines to transmit natural gas from China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the west to the east.
