CEO Retires at Bakersfield, Calif.-Based Berry Petroleum.

Apr. 27--Jerry Hoffman has stepped down as president and chief executive officer of Berry Petroleum Co.

His retirement, which the company said was due to personal and health reasons, was effective Monday.

Robert Heinemann was named interim president and CEO of the Bakersfield-based petroleum company.

Heinemann was appointed chairman of the board at Berry on April 1. He has been on the board since 2002.

Heinemann previously worked as a consul
