PROJECT OVERVIEW:

An American/South Korean joint venture, operating under the name of PERU LNG CO., has again postponed the construction start-up on a planned liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant that was supposed to begin in 2004. The partners in the planned undertaking include US-based HUNT OIL and SK CORP. of South Korea.

The delay has been caused by a dispute between 2 provinces that claim the project site located some 170 kms south of the capital city, Lima. In any case according to Carlos del Solar, PERU LNG Chief Executive Officer, construction works
