IDT, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDTI), a leading communications IC provider, today announced James Shih has been promoted to vice president of corporate quality and reliability. In his new position, Shih is responsible for the company's quality organizations and oversees and supports more than 200 IDT quality assurance employees in the United States, Malaysia and the Philippines.
An 11-year veteran of IDT, Shih is responsible for defining, implementing and auditing IDT's quality assurance policies and procedures to guarantee the highest quality IDT IC products. To maintain IDT's position as a leading IC company in customer satisfaction, Shih aims to make continuous improvements and achieve total quality commitment to ensure IDT products and services exceed its customer expectations.

About James Shih
Since 1989, Shih has served in various roles at IDT. As director of IDT's R&D department, he led the company's process technology development. He was also instrumental in defining and implementing IDT's lithography/technology roadmap. Shih's other positions at IDT have included engineering manager and supervisor for the R&D department. Previous to IDT, Shih held various positions with Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, Monolithic Memory, Inc. and National Semiconductor Corporation. He earned a bachelor's degree in materials and science engineering from National Tsing-Hwa University in Taiwan, R.O.C. and a master's degree in materials and science engineering from Northwestern University.
