Motorcycle specialist Bennetts has promoted Kal Sarara (formerly director) to managing director.

Janet Eagle-Smith becomes associate director, having

joined Budget Group in 2002 as regional manager for Budget Retail and graduated from the Open University Business School in Business in 1996. Her career started at GA, followed by 15 years with AA, concluding as regional sales manager and national sales development manager. She was also regional sales manager with the Swinton Group.

Simon de Choisy has been appointed as senior finance manager. He was previously a strategy and financial planning manager at AMP Bank and more recently decision support contractor at Barclaycard.

Barry Dickson is appointed as dealer manager for Bennetts new dealer programme. Previously dealer manager with Carole Nash Insurance, his management career includes supermarket manager at Aldi Stores. More recently, he spent time in Ohio, USA as a soccer coach at the John F Kennedy High School.

MMA

MMA Insurance appoints Martin Scarrett as household and travel underwriting manager. He was previously business change manager at MMA, and before that electronic distribution manager. He joined MMA 14 years ago, having previously worked in the broker market.

Multiassistance

Sarah Wood has been appointed sales and marketing manager at property repair network Multiassistance. A marketing graduate from the University of Lancaster, she has spent the last four years as a brand manager for electronic manufacturing services company PGE Corporation.

Credit management solutions provider Coface UK has appointed Joe Blenkinsop to head a new London Markets team. His experience lies in the political and trade credit risk field and he worked as a broker whilst at Marsh, Sedgwick, and Willis.

Specialist underwriting agency ATD General has appointed Chris Hoesli as associate director - sales and development from Zurich Financial Services where he was business manager for international and new business teams. Prior to that he spent the majority of his career with Royal and R&SA.

Following the amalgamation of Cunningham Lindsey's loss adjusting services operations in Birmingham and Leicester, David Robinson is appointed area property manager and Kirsten Watson takes responsibility for East Midlands business development. Peter Cragg is appointed as manager of the specialist adjusting Midlands network.

John Davies has joined the Lloyd's Market Association's non-marine team as a technical executive. He has 29 years' insurance industry experience mainly in Lloyd's and broking environments. Most recently he was a technical manager at Guest Krieger.

David Powell is appointed motor manager. He joins from ABI and before that was an IFA at Towry Law Insurance Brokers and a financial advisor at Britannic Assurance. He replaces Roger Jones, who retires after 40 years at Lloyd's.

Jelf Insurance Brokers has appointed Glyn Ashton as commercial account executive. His general insurance career began at NatWest in 1988. He moved to Commercial Union as an underwriter from 1993-99 before joining broker Kallender Jeffries as an account executive.

R K Harrison Insurance Brokers has appointed Michael Carr as new business executive within the UK commercial division. Post graduation, he launched a recruitment company before joining Aon's graduate programme and was later recruited into Aon's mid-market sales force.

Barnaby Rugge-Price is appointed to the board as director of the property division having joined in 2005.

Steve Thornett becomes director of the UK commercial division and joined in January 2006.

Hardy Underwriting Agencies appoints Patrick Gage as active underwriter for a new syndicate to underwrite for the 2007 year of account. Since the 2000 year of account he has been the active underwriter of syndicate 1301, managed by Chaucer Syndicates.

Hiscox Insurance has appointed Callum Taylor as D&O underwriting manager. He joins from ACE European Group, where he was senior D&O underwriter. Before that he was an associate director for Howden Insurance Brokers and also spent eight years with AIG Europe.

CIGNA

CIGNA HealthCare has appointed James Parker as managing director of the UK healthcare business. He became finance director in 2004, and prior to joining in 2002, spent 13 years with Prudential. Latterly he was head of management information for Scottish Amicable.

She has worked within the Lloyd's and London Market in both broking and underwriting roles for 25 years, and joined THB in 2002 as group internal audit manager. She was appointed as a director of the Lloyd's broker in June 2004.

Allianz Cornhill Engineering has appointed its fourth specialist insurance risk surveyor. Philip Harrison joined in 2002 and was previously a lift and crane engineer surveyor.

Health insurer BCWA appoints Trevor Gaze from Clinicare where he was responsible for the company's business development in the north of England.

NIG

Peter Lycholat has been appointed by NIG as head of operations north, with overall responsibility for the Glasgow, Ashington, Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds regions. He joins from management consultancy Accenture, and before that was senior manager corporate partnerships at HBOS GI and held various operational management roles within Norwich Union.
