TROY, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 24, 2000

ReQuest Multimedia Inc. today announced that it is now shipping the AudioReQuest Digital Music System(TM), the first MP3-based home stereo component to reach the consumer market designed to meet the growing demand for digital media in the home. The first units were shipped on April 22nd.

"Listening to music directly from CDs will soon become a thing of the past," said Steven Vasquez, ReQuest Multimedia's Chief Executive Officer. "We are bringing consumers a convenient and unrestrictive way to enjoy their music. Our Digital Music System (DMS) acts like a central music server, providing quick and easy access to a vast collection of digital music."

AudioReQuest Features

ReQuest Multimedia's hard drive enabled digital jukebox, the AudioReQuest Digital Music System, revolutionizes the home theater and how we listen to music:

- Play your audio CDs once and AudioReQuest remembers your music, so you never
have to insert that CD again.

- AudioReQuest stores, organizes, and plays more than 300 hours of CD-quality
digital music.

- Music is automatically organized by song title, artist, and album using CDDB
and MP3 ID3 tags.

- With its built-in CD player, analog stereo line-in inputs, and network
connections, AudioReQuest can transfer music from CDs, MP3 CDs, and PCs, and
record from audiocassettes, LPs, and radio.

- AudioReQuest is a stand-alone home stereo component, but can also be
connected online or to a PC for enhanced Internet-enabled features.

- AudioReQuest includes Ethernet, USB, and Parallel ports for connecting to PC,
MP3 portable players, and the Internet.

- AudioReQuest allows the user to navigate and play their music collection from
a remote control, viewed on the built-in LCD and through the enhanced
television interface.

AudioReQuest allows music enthusiasts instant access to more than 6000 songs in one central location. AudioReQuest users can easily search their entire music collection by song title, artist, and album, as well as create their own customized play lists with the easy to use remote control. Animated graphic displays moving to the beat of the music can be viewed on a TV screen.

AudioReQuest is software upgradeable over the Internet or via CDs sent to registered customers, enabling the latest features and digital music formats. In a future software update, AudioReQuest will connect to the Internet allowing customers to download and purchase new music from the comfort of their living room.
