Matsushita Applied Research says it has the first fully digital, HDTV television camera. The prototype is based on the 1,125 line, 60-frame-per-second, interlaced HDTV studio standard developed by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. The company says it can also use the proposed U.S. broadcast HDTV standard of 1,080 lines if the FCC approves the standard.
