Los Alamos, N.M., Lab Buys Supercomputer.

Aug. 16--LOS ALAMOS, N.M.--Los Alamos National Laboratory is buying one of the world's fastest supercomputers with what appears to be one of the world's fastest supercomputer deals.

In an agreement announced Thursday, Linux Networx promised to have the new machine up and running at Los Alamos by fall.

The $10 million computer appears poised to be among the 10 fastest computers in the world.
