Another PC maker seeks new revenue streams.(Hewlett-Packard)(Brief Article)

PC manufacturer Hewlett-Packard has designed a device that connects televisions and stereos to the Internet. H-P Digital Entertainment Centre will be able to download, store and play music from the Web and offer limited streaming of music videos on TV sets. It can use broadband pipes to connect to the Internet and can store 9,000 songs. Price tag for the unit--similar size and shape to other stereo components--is due to be under $ 1,000. It will be ready to ship for Christmas 2001. Hewlett-Packard (USA; +1/650 857 1501; www.hp.com) anticipates further
