NEC to shift 70 percent of PC production to China for sale in Japan. (Business Development).

NEC Corp. said it would shift 70 percent of its production of personal computers built for Japanese users to China, beginning next quarter, to cut costs and turn around loss-making operations.

An NEC spokesman said China has become the global hub of PC production and NEC decided to move there to benefit from the expertise of other manufacturers. Currently NEC has a close relationship with Taiwanese companies and
