Credit Suisse First Boston installs financialinformation display with Imtech Corp. and Clarity...

DENVILLE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 9, 1997--Imtech Corporation, America's leading developer of large-scale display hardware and software, and Clarity Visual Systems, an innovative manufacturer of electronic display systems, have expanded their presence in the financial community with a new

installation at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York City.

Imtech's ViewScape, featuring Clarity Visual Systems' 52-inch LCD monitors and Imtech's next generation UltraMAX multi-sync, multi-standard digital processor and control software, is now located on the Global Foreign Exchange trading floor of Credit Suisse First Boston.

The marriage between Imtech and Clarity developed when Lawrence Hall, Vice President of Front Office Technical Services for Credit Suisse First Boston, requested the two companies join together to build the optimal videowall display. "The data we display in full-color is constantly changing and subject to burn-in," Hall said. "We needed a monitor that is immune to burn-in and wouldn't degrade the image quality. We found that solution in Clarity's LCD monitors. Together with Imtech's advanced, high-speed processors, the videowall provides traders with a 'Virtual Orderboard' that shows outstanding orders without disrupting day-to-day activities on the trading floor. Imtech's ViewScape also allows us to present the information in a new and dynamic way. For instance, in the future we will be able to graphically represent shifts in trends in the bond market as well as emphasize the status of key issues and orders."

"Financial institutions such as Credit Suisse First Boston have begun to look to Imtech and Clarity to provide large-scale displays which meet the challenge of presenting trading information," said Paul Noble, Founder and CEO of Imtech Corporation. "In the Credit Suisse First Boston installation, we used Clarity's high-performance video displays because they are designed for optimal brightness with reduced depth, making it easy to install in an office area that has little floor-space to work with. The whole structure is just 28.5 inches deep," Noble added.

According to Imtech President Thomas Apple, Credit Suisse First Boston was also interested in optimizing information dissemination technologies to allow for other forms of presentation which traditional LED boards are unable to achieve. "Imtech's UltraMAX was designed with this type of need in mind -- to provide service beyond first use. The UltraMAX processor accommodates VGA, SVGA, workstation graphics, video conferencing, broadcast feeds and digital HDTV standards, allowing companies to easily upgrade their facility with new sources of information as they move forward."

The use of videowall technology has been slow to infiltrate the office environment because of space and budget considerations. However, the solution offered by Imtech and Clarity will be seen not only as a good investment for Credit Suisse First Boston, but as a breakthrough in visual display for conference rooms, trading rooms and office lobbies. The success of the Credit Suisse First Boston installation prompted Imtech and Clarity to enter into an OEM agreement in order to mass produce the enabling technology.
