It all started because of a homework assignment for the daughter of Local Government Employees' FCU President Maurice Smith.
"She said had to go on the Internet to get her homework done," Smith recalled of Raven, 10. "I asked her what the kids in her class who don't have home computers do."
Smith told her dad that the kids without home computers had to do their work during class time, while the rest of the students moved onto the next assignment.
Calling that an "educational disadvantage," Smith and his CU staff set out to change things.
