SEMICON West 2002
CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 22, 2002
ClickSoftware (NASDAQ:CKSW), the leading provider of end-to-end service optimization solutions, has announced that Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon Inc. (NYSE:CAJ), will conduct live demonstrations of ClickFix diagnostic software from ClickSoftware during SEMICON West 2002, illustrating how ClickFix can improve remote service and support for lithography tools.
The CUSA Semiconductor Equipment Division will demonstrate how the ClickFix web-based troubleshooting tool helps to identify, monitor and resolve problems. ClickSoftware's ClickFix diagnostic software guides the technician through the troubleshooting process, lists faulty components and recommends action to determine the cause.
"The variety of products on the market today means that technicians have an almost infinite amount of parts selections," said Simon Chan, National Technical Support Manager, CUSA Semiconductor Equipment Division. "Diagnostic software provides a knowledge base that can store all that information and make it constantly available while still learning from each call-out experience."
Mr. Chan said ClickSoftware is part of a solution Canon will demonstrate at its booth to show it is possible to shorten training time and distribute troubleshooting knowledge more effectively, while giving the customer a higher machine up-time.
"The benefits of remote diagnostics can be twofold for the OEM and chipmaker," said Dr. Moshe BenBassat, CEO of ClickSoftware, Inc. "Equipment suppliers can leverage their core expertise and solve problems online, while driving down the costs of unnecessary human and material resource with unscheduled maintenance. This monitoring of equipment means chipmakers get early alerts to problems, so they can intervene and avoid further waste, " Dr. BenBassat said.
Canon will also be featuring its new lithography tools during SEMICON West 2002. More information is available on the conference and expo at http://events.semi.org/semiconwest/V32/index.cvn.
