Company Showcases Newest Assortment of Cordless Products
at Annual General Meeting
Logitech (Nasdaq:LOGIY)(Switzerland:LOGN, LOGZ), international market leader in human interface devices that define the way people link to information in business, at home and online, today unveiled its new family of innovative -- and colorful -- cordless mice and trackballs at the company's annual general meeting.
Included in this year's cordless collection are the first cordless optical trackball, this year's "Special Edition" Cordless Wheel Mouse and two cordless wheel mice whose USB compatibility extends cordless freedom to Macintosh(R) users.
Logitech has been a pioneer in bringing cordless peripherals to the retail market ever since launching the first radio frequency-based cordless mouse in 1992. To date, the company has sold more than six million cordless products, including cordless mice, keyboards and presentation controllers, and won numerous industry awards for both technology and design.
All of the new cordless products feature Logitech's signature industrial design and popular WebWheel(TM) utility, which provides one-touch Internet functionality to mouse users. In essence, WebWheel transforms these devices into "hardware portals," offering instant access to four of the most commonly used web browsing commands as well as five customizable Internet addresses, including Logitech's iTouch(TM) web site, with just the click of a button.
The new cordless pointing device family includes:
-- Cordless TrackMan(R) Wheel -- Announced earlier this year at a
suggested retail price of $79.95, Cordless TrackMan Wheel is
the first-ever cordless optical trackball. Based on Logitech's
patented Marble(R) optical sensing and award-winning digital
radio technology, Cordless TrackMan Marble is a USB/PS2 device
that combines the precision factor customers have come to
expect from Logitech's optical trackballs with the convenience
factor of eliminating desktop cord clutter. This combination
provides trackball users with the flexibility to arrange their
workspace to suit their individual preferences.
-- Cordless MouseMan(R) Wheel and Cordless Wheel Mouse --
Featuring an updated design and sleek metallic finish,
Cordless MouseMan Wheel carries a suggested retail price of
$59.95. Cordless Wheel Mouse, the best-selling cordless mouse
worldwide, carries a suggested retail price of $39.95.
-- "Special Edition" Cordless Wheel Mouse -- With its
interchangeable metallic-finish shells, the Special Edition
Cordless Wheel Mouse carries a suggested retail price of
$39.95. Its design reflects the brightly colored metallic
"look" so popular in today's consumer electronics marketplace.
The ambidextrous product offers two levels of artistic freedom
-- freedom from unsightly, annoying cords plus freedom to
dress your mouse to suit your mood. Besides the standard
metallic shell, the "Special Edition" Cordless Wheel Mouse
comes with two additional snap-on shells.
"Logitech is introducing an impressive array of cordless pointing devices that combine innovation with great design and overall esthetics," said Wolfgang Hausen, senior vice president and general manager of the company's Control Devices Division. "What's more, thanks to USB technology, Macintosh users can now enjoy cordless freedom and flexibility."
All of the new cordless products will be on retail shelves this summer.
