3G pilots likely in India by year-end.(INDIA)(Brief Article)

India will host at least two 3G pilot projects by the end of the year, according to the regional chief of Motorola Inc.

Amit Sharma, a regional vice president at Motorola, said the pilot projects would likely be run by private wireless service providers. Both government-owned service providers, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd. and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd., are seeking suppliers of 3G infrastructure equipment and services.
