TCNZ feels the heat from Vodafone 3G play.(News Analysis)

Vodafone has announced a 3G monile push in Australasia, with plans to Hutchison into the Australian market and setting a 2005 launch date for New Zealand.

The context of the decisions in the two markets, however, are completely different as Vodafone aims to shore up its faltering position in Australia while its NZ strategy is about increasing its leading position in the mobiles' market.
