Delphi is looking for non-auto business, too.

Delphi plans to expand its operations outside the auto industry - with Europe as a prime target.

David Wohleen, president of Delphi Electronics and Mobile Communications, sees his division as a key in finding new applications for existing Delphi technology.

"We are looking for opportunities in other industries that are less cyclical [than the auto industry]," he said.

Areas of interest in both Europe and the USA are commercial and agricultural vehicles, aerospace and defense, medical and energy.
