Top brands lose share in China.(METRICS / Inside the wireless data numbers)

Mobile phone sales in China have increased by 10.4% in the first quarter to 36.89 million units compared to the previous quarter. An Analysys International report shows that Nokia continues to dominate the market, accounting for 31.7% of sales.

Motorola and Samsung lag with market shares of 21.1% and 9%, respectively. The two leading vendors, however, have both registered market share declines over the past quarter Nokia by 1.9 percentage points and Motorola by 3 percentage points. Sony Ericsson also faced a 2-percentage point drop in its share.
