Beijing Looses Price Control on Telecom Cards

BEIJING, Feb 08, 2002 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- Starting Feb. 5, Beijing's telecom product sellers, rather than the pricing authority, will price their telecom cards.

Cards involved in the new policy include SIM cards for GSM handsets, UIM cards for CDMA phones and SIM cards for satellite-based mobile phones.

However, the sellers will not be granted to sell the cards under the costs to lure more buyers, the city's pricing bureau said.
