US microchip giant Intel is working on a new superchip designed to enable wireless broadband internet access everywhere from a kitchen table to a public park. Called "radio-free" because it frees the user from worrying about which wireless network to use to connect to the internet, the new chip could eventually end the Wi-fi-versus-3G war currently being waged across the mobile communications industry.
