Laser Industries Pres Dan Barnea's pioneering business strategies played an important part in his reversing Laser Industries three year $17 million business losses. Since Barnea became president and chief operating officer in 1961, Laser Industries has become a profitable manufacturer of surgical equipment and expects to surpass $2 million in profits for 1993. The son of pioneers in Israel, Barnea pioneered projects for Rafael, Tadiran, Elscint and Indigo before joining Laser Industries. In addition to planning mergers, Barnea hopes to pioneer laser-based surgical equipment in China.
