Leading Semiconductor Chief Executives to Keynote Taiwan and China Semiconductor Conference...

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The US-Taiwan Business Council today announced that Richard Chang, Chairman, President and CEO of Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), Nicky Lu, Chairman and CEO of Etron Technology Inc., and Walden (Wally) Rhines, Chairman and CEO of Mentor Graphics

Corporation will give keynote addresses at the Taiwan + China Semiconductor Industry Outlook 2004 conference.

This conference, hosted by the US-Taiwan Business Council, is the second in a series focusing on the challenges and opportunities presented by the increasing economic integration of the U.S., Taiwan and China semiconductor markets. The conference will be held on December 7, 2004 in San Jose, Calif.

Conference participants will benefit from presentations and Q&A sessions on strategic issues impacting companies involved in semiconductor manufacturing and design, including technology export controls, investment, market access, intellectual property rights, partnerships, and supply-chain. The conference will also focus on the implications for the rapidly growing Chinese semiconductor industry and how the U.S., Taiwan and China can work together to further the industry's development.
