GE Fanuc says it will acquire Intellution. (News).

GE Fanuc Automation announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire industrial software supplier Intellution from its parent Emerson Process Management.

Intellution, which currently employs 250, was founded in 1980 by ex-Foxboro engineer Steve Rubin. It says it has an installed base of more than 185,000 'iFIX' packages around the world. This is the second time Intellution has been sold; it was acquired by Emerson in 1995. Emerson uses the iFIX MMI software in its DeltaV and other systems, and will retain the rights to the source code.
