HEADNOTE

AROUND THE INDUSTRY

Advanced Battery Technologies Inc. (ABAT) which has an office in New York City and manufacturing facilities in China has started shipments of its advanced rechargeable polymer-lithium-ion

batteries to Aiyingsi Co. Ltd. of Taiwan.

The initial shipment was installed in 30 electric bicycles and motorcycles. After three months of testing, the results included a travel distance of 106 kilometers after full charge, maximum speed of 60km/hour, and a two-hour recharging time. "We're fully satisfied with the test results of ABAT's rechargeable PLI batteries and anticipate increasing the total contract value in the future," says Mr. Xinxin Xiong, chairman of Aiyingsi

"As we complete the final testing of our nano-lithiumion (NLI) battery for electric motorcycles in April, we plan to move more quickly to account for a larger share of the Taiwan rechargeable battery market with our new advanced NLI batteries," says Zhiguo Fu, chairman of ABAT. Compared to other traditional battery compounds, such as NiCd, NiMH, lead acid, LLI or PLI, the NLI battery manufactured by Advanced Battery Technologies delivers advantages with rapid charge and discharge, much longer cycle life, and safer performance.
