Su-Kam Plans Battery Plant in Baddi

India's largest exporter of power inverters, Su-Kam Power Systems Ltd. (SPSL) in Chandigarh, plans to set up a state-of-the-art sealed maintenance-free (SMF) battery plant in Baddi.

SPSL's CEO Kunwer Sachdev said the company's proposed battery plant has already been approved by the Himachal

Pradesh government. "The total project will cost Rs 50 crore and will be financed by equity funding and internal accruals," he told a press conference. Sachdev said the plant would manufacture a complete range of batteries - from 4.5 to 200Ah - catering to various industries and applications.
