Nov. 30--CHAPEL HILL -- Despite a brilliant first half and one second-half surge, third-ranked Ohio State learned a hard lesson Wednesday night.

It's probably not a good idea to try to win a scoring match with this year's North Carolina team, particularly in the Smith Center.

After nearly getting buried by a 3-point barrage in the early going, the seventh-ranked Tar Heels overtook the talented Buckeyes in the final nine minutes to post a 98-89 win in Wednesday night's ACC-Big Ten Challenge marquee finale.
