Clinic program anticipates nurse shortage
The Cleveland Clinic is taking some preventive medicine for a projected nursing shortage by grooming hospital workers to help take care of patients in its 10 intensive care units.
Sharon Coulter, chairwoman of the Clinic's nursing division, is developing a new educational program which will train employees to become patient care technicians. It will be offered to nursing assistants already employed at the hospital.
