In the case of Jones Knowledge, the brainchild of cable and distance learning pioneer Glenn Jones, a raft of cable training videos and materials it unearthed in mid-2002 could translate into some smarter cable techs and customer service reps.

The effort is a resurrection of Mind Extension Institute (MEI), a Jones-operated cable training company that did not come under the auspices of Comcast Corp. when it acquired Jones Intercable.
