Sullivan University, in Louisville, Kentucky, has selected booktech.com (AMEX:BTC), a first mover in digital and on-demand publishing, as custom publisher of textbooks, coursepackets and other educational and training
booktech.com will assist Sullivan in creating materials which can be disseminated as electronic downloads, CD-ROM's, or printed coursepackets. booktech.com is working with Sullivan to develop a unique Website through which its professors can customize their teaching tools using the Company's Educators' Online Library(TM), a digital library of academic and training content.
According to A.R. Sullivan, President and founder of the University, "We are pleased to join booktech.com in making available to our faculty the Company's innovative technology. This is timely," he added, "because we are in the process of migrating 350 courses to the Web in order to reach our students enrolled throughout the world."
booktech.com CEO Dr. Morris Shepard stated, "I'm very excited to work with Sullivan, which long has been recognized as a leader and innovator in career education. They will extend that leadership through their current innovations in distance learning where our publishing services are uniquely suited."
Sullivan Senior Vice President Tom Davisson added that he is eager to offer faculty "a service which will enable our students to stay on top of trends, because the most cutting-edge information is derived from recent research and journals, not from traditional textbooks."
In cooperation with Microsoft, Inc., Sullivan University offers courses that enable students to become Certified Microsoft Systems Engineers and Microsoft Certified Solution Developers. Reflecting its partnership with the U.S. Army, the University recently added a leadership concentration to its MBA program, focusing on students in the Captains Program of the Armor School at Fort Knox.
