This much-awaited online writing diagnostic application is designed to assess and improve a basic but crucial skill all police recruits and current police officers need to possess - the ability to write clear, concise incident reports. Law enforcement authorities have likened report-writing skills on par with self-defense training, driving skills, and the ability to size up a situation and gauge the degree of danger present.

ConvictionWriter offers training and professional development opportunities for the members of both police academies and public safety departments, from new recruits to command staff, and is designed to improve report writing skills by allowing officers to practice writing narrative reports about simulated crime scenes using the application. The web-based program, which is trained to detect both strengths and weaknesses of a report's style and content, immediately evaluates the report on these areas and returns the report to the writer with suggestions for improvement.
