South Dakota Regional Economic Analysis Project

The University of South Dakota Business Research Bureau has launched the South Dakota Regional Economic Analysis Project, a web site dedicated to the South Dakota economy.

The free, interactive website is available for public use

and provides comprehensive economic data for the state of South Dakota and counties, as well as for other states. The data spans 37 years, from 1969 to 2005. South Dakota residents and business leaders may access web-based programs to create graphic trend analysis of local economic indicators and generate shift-share analysis of local employment growth. The site features information that will help users with graphing and research.

There is a link to the website at the Business Research Bureau homepage: http://www.usd.edu/brbinfo or to access the website directly, visit http://www.pnreap.org/ south dakota.

The software for the project was created by Gary W. Smith, director of the Pacific Northwest Regional Economic Analysis Project, and the data was compiled by the Regional Economic Measurement Division (REMD) of the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA).
