Jobless rate down across state.

Apr. 20--Alabama's unemployment rate dropped in March to its lowest point in nearly four years.

Every Alabama county saw a decline in its jobless rate from the month before, according to preliminary estimates from the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations.

Statewide, the jobless rate declined to 4.7 percent. That's down from 5.2 percent in February and 5.7 percent in March 2004.

That means 102,012 Alabamians were counted as unemployed in March, 10,435 fewer than in February. The total is 19,229 fewer than in Mar
