Latin America's rejuvenated economies are great news for Florida.

While recession and trade unity have preoccupied the G7 powerhouses, and Eastern Europe continues to grapple with the more daunting task of establishing democracies and market-based economies, a new star continues to rise in the south.

Increasingly rejecting the overregulated, government-oriented policies that nearly bankrupted them, Latin American nations over the past three years have been embracing like never before the nostrums of capitalism -- privatization, deregulation and trade liberalizatio
