Definitions for: DRM (Digital Rights Management)
DRM (Digital Rights Management)

a system for restricting the use and copying of digital versions of intellectual property (such as music and movies). Several different systems have been used, but determined copyright infringers can find ways around them (since any digital content is subject to being copied by the right hardware). Also, DRM systems may be too restrictive by preventing content purchasers from exercising rights that are allowed under copyright law. On the other hand, artists' livelihoods are at risk when their works can be freely copied.
