Vertex Acquisition Means Opportunities for L-3 Aerospace Plant in Waco, Texas.

Feb. 1--L-3 site manager Ed Boyington thinks the New York-based company's acquisition of Vertex Aerospace last year could mean work for the Waco plant.

"I'm excited about it," said Boyington, who became manager of Waco's L-3 plant in September. A month later, L-3 announced it acquired Mississippi-based Vertex for $650 million.

Vertex maintains and services more than 2,600 planes and helicopters at facilities in 41 states and 34 countries. Waco's L-3 plant modifie
