The perpetrators of the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington were not Buddhists. Neither, for that matter, were they Christians, Jews, or Atheists. Rather, they were devout jihadist Muslims, following the dictates of their beliefs. These beliefs include the legitimacy of waging jihad, holy war, against those regimes, societies, or individuals that they classify as non-believers.
