Edinburg, Texas, Gets Homeland Security Grant to Train for Terror Response.

Jun. 10--EDINBURG, Texas--The city soon will get a $290,000 grant to improve its ability to deal with terrorist attacks.

The federal Homeland Security grant will allow the city to purchase much needed equipment and provide training for emergency response, said Fire Chief Shawn Snider. Half of the money will be used by the city's emergency response teams, while the other half will be granted to the city's development council.
