Freshies Food Corporation Enters Liquor DistributionArena With Introduction Of Old Kiev Vodka.

Freshies Food Corporation, dba Freshies Distributing Company, recently secured its liquor wholesale license, allowing it to distribute wine and spirits in the state of Colorado. Freshies Distributing Co. has acted as the distributing arm of Freshies Food
Corporation in the state of Colorado for the past 14 months. Colin Wells is the acting Director of Sales, and Ed Cervone manages the Liquor Sales Division.
The primary product line for FDC has been Bridal Veil Cocktail Mixes, the all-natural cocktail mix brand manufactured by Freshies Food Corporation. "Our Bloody Mary and Margarita Mixes comprise the majority of our sales," says Wells. "We have been delivering Bridal Veil to liquor stores, restaurants, bars and natural foods markets for the past year, and we found a need to augment our book to make distribution worthwhile." Bridal Veil Bloody Mary Mix hit the market in 1995 after Wells and his partner, Ian Gustin, developed the recipe in a Telluride, Colorado restaurant. "Our Bloody Mix has been extremely well received by Colorado consumers, both for its flavor and convenience. It is the choice for on-premise accounts, as well, because there is no need to doctor it up." The mixes contain fresh ingredients without any artificial preservatives, flavors or colors.
"Liquor distribution is a natural extension to what we are currently doing," continues Wells. "It only makes sense to merchandise our mixes with upscale vodka and tequila." Freshies distributing's first alcoholic product line is Old Kiev Vodka. Old Kiev is a triple-distilled blend of rye and winter wheat from the Ukraine. It is filtered twice, once through birch-tree charcoal and then again through quartz crystals. The vodka is described as silky smooth, with a medium body and a crisp finish. The vodka is imported into the U.S. by St. Clair Wine and Spirits of Bethel Park, PA.
Other product lines for Freshies Distributing Co. include Maker's Mark Bourbon Seasoned Cigars, What's Shakin! Colored Margarita Salts, Honest Tea Iced Teas, Naturally Boulder Bottled Water, and Swiss Deliss Iced Tea.
