Southern California Grocery Shoppers Deal with Thanksgiving Picket Lines.

Nov. 22--The Orange County Register Ah, the holidays. Family to visit, movies to see, turkeys to baste.

Picket lines to cross or not.

On a Friday afternoon before Thanksgiving, the dozen or so pickets outside Vons in Tustin outnumber the shoppers inside. That's where Nancy Phillips, 64, is leaning over a cooler full of marked-off Butterballs.

"It's been harder this year. I'm shopping for my sister and she's old and fussy," says Nancy Phillip
