Climate Energy Teams Up with Utility for 'New Kind of Energy'

Climate Energy LLC, Braintree, MA, and the Braintree Electric Light Department celebrated the inaugural installation of a home heating appliance that Climate Energy says will give U.S. homeowners the ability to generate electricity from the energy they already use to heat their homes.

Energy's Micro-CHP System is the result of several years of work with partner American Honda Motor Co. Micro-CHP connotes micro-sized combined heat and power systems.

Climate Energy says the average user of Micro-CHP System, can satisfy 50% of their electricity needs, for significant reduction in annual electric costs. The company says the system is also expected to yield a 30% reduction in harmful carbon dioxide emissions.

Additionally, Braintree Electric Light is sponsoring the deployment of a number of Climate Energy Micro-CHP Systems in homes in Braintree in cooperation with the American Public Power Association.
