RSES Educational Foundation expands National Technician Certification

The Educational Foundation of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) recently expanded its National Technician Certification (NTC) program to a total of nine certification categories.

The new categories of certification include gas heating, oil heating, hot water heating and steam heating. In addition, the foundation also separated the formerly combined refrigeration and airconditioning category into two individual categories. The categories of heat pump service technician, heat pump installer and heat pump designer-estimator remain unchanged.

NTC exams are intended for service technicians who are engaged in the operation,. maintenance, and general care of the types of systems mentioned above. NTC is valid for five years and is available to all qualified individuals, independent of RSES membership. RSES also offers comprehensive study guides for each of the exam topics.

For more information on NTC, contact Director of Training and Testing Renee Tomlinson at 847/759-4044 or visit www.rses.org.
