New ASHRAE Standards, rising efficiency requirements, utility deregulation, and increased environmental scrutiny are issues of importance.

The international codes that are being developed now will be our future, not only in the U.S., but in other parts of the world as well where our international codes are being accepted.

Based on ASHRAE Standard 90.1, the Department of Energy has developed and simplified a lot of the commercial codes and their requirements for highrise buildings and for large commercial structures.

In the United States, our infrastructure is crumbling, which means our water supply is threatened. Many of the clean water permits in the country have expired. Cleaning this up will be an opportunity and a challenge for our industry.
