PSEG Energy acquires more contractors

Central Plumbing & Hearing, based in Allentown, PA, and Tougher Industries of Albany, NY have been acquired by PSEG Energy Technologies, a full-service energy services provider and a direct subsidiary of PSEG Energy Holdings, whose parent company is Public Service Enterprise Group. Terms and conditions

of the acquisitions weren't released.

Tougher Industries was founded in 1890. The company has annual sales of approximately $60 million and a staff of 350 based in offices in Albany and Poughkeepsie, NY. In addition to mechanical construction, the company also provides sheet metal fabrication and insulation services to commercial and industrial customers.

William Tougher Jr., president, and Don McKay, chairman, will remain with the company.

Founded in 1943, Central has annual sales of approximately $20 million and employs 130 people in the Allentown and Reading, PA areas. The company provides HVAC, fire protection, electrical and plumbing design and construction services as well as mechanical service to commercial and industrial clients in the Lehigh Valley region.

Central CEO Randy Clemens and President Russ Sweinhart will remain with the company.

In addition to Tougher Industries and Central Plumbing & Heating, PSEG Energy Technologies has acquired Arden Engineering in Pawtucket, RI, Liber Rich and RichFire of Pleasantville, NJ, Struble Air Conditioning of Fairfield, NJ, Frank A. McBride of Hawthorne, NJ, Fluidics, Inc., a Philadelphia-based mechanical service contractor, East Coast Mechanical of Virginia Beach, VA, and Thomas H. Barham Co. of Tinton Falls, NJ.

Headquartered in Edison, NJ, PSEG Energy Technologies provides industrial and commercial business customers with energy products and services to assist them in reducing energy costs and improving efficiency. The company currently provides energy and energy-related services to more than 5,000 customers in the Northeast.
