Recycled porcelain offers a new look for concrete contractors.
You may have heard of recycled glass terrazzo flooring and countertops, but now there is something entirely new, recycled porcelain terrazzo. The product is called EnviroMODE, and
EnviroGLAS founder Tim Whaley, nicknamed "Scrappy" by the Dallas Business Journal, was granted a U.S. patent in 2003 for developing the "method of making a terrazzo surface from recycled glass." Four years and several awards later, Whaley is at it again. This time it was the City of Dallas who asked him if he could do anything with a bunch of old toilets and commodes. The juices started flowing and soon EnviroMODE(TM) was born.
"I am always looking for companies that are creating new and innovative products from recycled materials," said City of Dallas Recycling Manager Sherlyn McAnally. "The crushed porcelain has a beautiful pearl-like finish and can be used in a versatile array of applications."
EnviroMODE is now teaming up with contractors, architects and designers from across the country to share this new innovative technique. Concrete combined with recycled porcelain is one of the most durable, easily maintained surface systems available today. Whether you are installing a concrete countertop or pouring a concrete flooring system, EnviroMODE will last the lifetime of a residence or commercial building. It also withstands heavy outdoor traffic and harsh weather elements, avoiding the cost and waste of renovation.
EnviroMODE gives concrete contractors a viable Green option to offer their clients and keeps the eco-fnendly philosophy going with companies like Kohler to utilize discarded porcelain sitting in landfills. Together, we can make Earth a cleaner, more sustamable planet.
With endless design and color possibilities, concrete contractors, architects and designers can make a unique, artistic and ecological statement again and again. EnviroMODE is the answer to your custom concrete needs.
