This year, Firestone gave special recognition to 15 contractors who have earned the Master Contractor Award every year since its inception 20 years ago. Bloom Roofing Systems, Inc., of Whitmore Lake, was one of those 15 contractors.
Since its inception, the Firestone Master Contractor program
This year, Firestone awarded 261 roofing contractors in the United States, Canada and Mexico with 2007 Master Contractor status. This year's recipients were named during a recognition event held at the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel and Spa in Maui, Hawaii.
"For two decades, Firestone has acknowledged contractors who consistently demonstrate superior roofing system installation performance and meet our stringent quality requirements," said Mike Gorey, president of Firestone and chairman, chief executive officer, and president of BFS Diversified Products, L.L.C. "Because of their dedication to craftsmanship, building owners can be confident that Firestone Master Contractors will deliver quality roofing systems."
Gorey added that Firestone is proud of the long-term partnerships it shares with many of its Master Contractors.
In addition to the Master Contractor Award, the program honors contractors with two other distinctive awards: the President's Club Award and the Inner Circle of Quality Award. Each award is based on criteria set by Firestone.
The Master Contractor award is presented each year to Firestone-licensed roofing contractors based on total square footage and Quality Points accumulated for achieving exceptional inspection ratings on Firestone Red Shield warranted RubberGard™ Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer Rubber (EPDM), UltraPly™ Thermoplastic, metal, or asphalt-based roofing system installations.
In addition to Master Contractor status, 31 roofing firms received the distinguished 2007 President's Club Award. The President's Club Award honors Master Contractors who accumulate the highest level of Quality Points.
For the past 15 years, the Inner Circle of Quality Award has acknowledged a select group of Master Contractors for their long-term roof installation performance and continuous focus on quality. This year, 166 contractors qualified for the award by achieving 2007 Master Contractor status, installing a minimum of four warranted Firestone roofs in each of the past five years, maintaining at least 2,000,000 square feet of Firestone roofs under warranty, and achieving an annual Quality Incidence Rating (QIR) of 2.0 or less. The Firestone QIR measures each contractor's quality performance based on warranty repair incidences per million square feet under warranty.
All 2007 Firestone Master Contractor Award recipients are entitled to a variety of rewards, including: cooperative advertising funds to assist with local marketing efforts; personalized letters of achievement for use in submittal packages; an invitation to a world-class resort; an Internet listing on Firestone's website; a commemorative award; discounts on Firestone clothing and accessories; and localized publicity.
