A survey on the level of customization offered by large production house builders found that most large-volume housing developers opt to market model selection rather than customization to home buyers. A significant minority will make any custom changes requested by buyers so long as they start from a standard floor plan. Only a few are willing to work from a buyer's own plans. Regardless of their company's approach to handling requests from buyers for changes in their new homes, 63% of the respondents said it took two-three business days to get a non-standard change approved.
