Raymond Roark's Formulas for Stress and Strain, which first appeared in 1938, also published by McGraw-Hill, has been a huge publishing success. I regret to have to say that I do not expect that Butler's Architectural Formulas will imitate it.

It is not really a pocket book: its horizontal dimensions (100 x 159 mm) are fine, but its thickness of 20mm
