Centex Rooney Construction Company Awarded the NewMiramar Town Center.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 7, 2000

Albert Petrangeli, president of Centex-Rooney Construction Company, is pleased to announce the company has been awarded the contract for the construction of the $130 million Miramar Town Center located in

Miramar, Florida.

This project will consist of municipal, residential, educational, office and retail uses. The 54-acre heart-shaped site is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Miramar Parkway and Red Road and will house a new city hall, cultural arts center and library. The non-municipal plan of the project will contain 290,000 square feet of new office space, 115,000 square feet of new retail space and approximately 225 new residential units. "We only get to do this once, so we want to do it right," states Bob Payton, Miramar Assistant City Manager. "Town Center is planned to last a lifetime as the heart of Miramar - yet it can be updated as needs change." The project is expected to be completed in phases.

Centex Rooney, Florida's largest general contractor and construction manager, is a subsidiary of Centex Construction Group, a division of Centex Corporation.
